  • WHAT IS SQUASH?
    Squash is a racket-and-ball sport played by two players in a four-walled court with a small, hollow rubber ball. The players alternate in hitting the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return.
  • HOW CAN YOU START PLAYING SQUASH?
    You can start playing squash at any age and at Helsinki Squash Training we coach at every level, from complete beginner to ambitious athlete. To improve your technique, you can book private lessons with a professional athlete, and during the season we have camps offering weekly group training, basic courses for squash beginners, tournament preparation, and lots more.
  • WHY IS SQUASH GOOD FOR YOU?
    Squash is a fun sport that requires conditioning, agility, strength and speed. The game has huge benefits for health and fitness – Forbes Magazine ranked it at number 1 in its top-ten chart of the healthiest sports. Along with its health benefits, squash can be played year-round, in all kinds of weather, by players of any skill level which makes it a sport for everyone to love. In recent years, squash has become very popular among university sports programs, and it has increased junior participation at the club and college levels.
  • HOW DO THE EUROPEAN JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS WORK?
    In order to participate in the European squash tournaments, all players are required to have a Club Locker or RankedIn account registered with your representing country. For juniors: Players who wish to participate in the European Squash Federation (ESF) events must be part of their representing country’s squash federation body. In Finland, that’s the Finnish Squash Federation. Players intending to participate in domestic or club tournaments can enrol via the tournament link provided on Club Locker or RankedIn. Juniors can participate in the following age categories: Under-11; Under-13; Under-15; Under- 17; Under-19. *In order to be eligible to participate in a specific age group, players need to be under the age-category provided until the last day of the tournament. For Masters/Adults: Masters events are for players aged 35 and over. ESF arranges a Masters Championship every 2 years and also runs a Masters Circuit which is held in various countries across Europe. You can easily follow the Masters tournament calendar here. If you want to participate in adult tournaments, you must be aged between 19 and above. The appropriate age category to enter is called Men’s (male) & Women’s (female). *In order to be eligible to participate in a specific age group, players need to be under the age category provided until the last day of the tournament.
  • WHAT IS THE HELSINKI SQUASH ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM?
    We designed our Online Training Program with one goal in mind - to enable adults and juniors to train at home. We understand that it’s not always possible to attend our camps but this doesn’t mean you have to stop training your squash and fitness skills. This is why we created an online program for you to follow when your coach is not present on-site. As of now, we only offer offline programs which are between 2-5 days per week and last 60-90 minutes per session. However, on special request, we do offer online classes for a price where a coach will be guiding you on Zoom, WhatsApp, and Google Meets. Check our Online Program page to see the current range of online fitness and squash training. We will help you train better, prepare better, and build habits that will drive your results.
  • HOW TO USE OUR "FIT" APP BY WIX?
    Step 1: Download the app “FIT” by Wix from the link provided on the website or click here: http://wix.to/oUADAq8 Step 2: In the Online Program section > choose the program you wish to join and press "request to join". Step 3: You will be notified once the coach has accepted your request and then you can proceed to the program. *All online programs have 3-6 day free trial period. Step 4: To start the trial you need to enter your payment details. Don't worry – you will not be charged until you have finished your trial period. Step 5: After your trial period is over you will be redirected to monthly subscription page. Step 6: Now you can decide whether you want to proceed or discontinue with your choice of program.   • WHO CREATES THE ONLINE PROGRAM ON HELSINKI SQUASH TRAINING APP?
    The Helsinki Squash Training online programs are all created and planned by Professional Squash Athlete, Finnish National Coach, and certified fitness coach, Mahesh Mangaonkar. Mahesh has gained certifications from Crossfit (Level 1) and Mixed Modal Programming Coach by OPEX-FIT.
